



I saw these birch trees on the way up to Rabbit Mountain, which is a cuesta.

a cuesta is like a mesa but there is a kallio [cliff] only on one side

these birches were on the slow steady climb side [previous post shows me going down that trail]

there are a lot of dead birches among the living

but even the old birches are homes

half way up you can see Nanabijou; you are climbing north and can see east
