My son found this cluster of baby ladybugs all bundled together on an old damp log by the strawberry patch in our yard. They are much smaller than the spotted ladybugs I see around here. I'm not sure if these are a different kind of ladybug altogether; besides a ladybug song that I used to sing as a girl, my knowledge of ladybugs is poor. Maybe these over-wintered under the log and came out in the light rain today?

Helen Thomas is actually an amazing woman who has done much good work to speak out about the US support of Israel and the bias in the media. Her comment, which she has apologized for, was an off-the-cuff remark during the attack on the flotilla, that Israelis should return to where they came from. Of course, this is not the answer to the problem of Palestine and Israel. But the press has demonized her and discredited her. Sadly.
Sorry! I misunderstood Helen Thomas' comments, I don't know why but I thought she was another pro-Israeli Canadian (I'll have to re-read your post). Hugs, M.
Those aren't baby ladybugs, they're baby stink bugs.

Those are actually young box beetles, they cluster together like that from when they are larva until they can fly. They're not dangerous but they can be little pests. My hometown had an extremely large hatch this year and we had them year round coming into houses through little crevices in the doors and windows.
