Lucky Angel

2 different sorts of angels. Both found downtown. One inside; one outside. One veiled; one face to the sky. One on a shelf; one on a pedestal. One's gaze cast down; the other's uplifted. One makeshift, hence, inexpensive; one commissioned, hence, expensive. Both elegant and elegiac.

I went to a wake today. It was in Lucky's Tavern, not in a funeral home reception area, so there were regular patrons there, too.

The angels at Lucky's were perched on bar stools. Many had come alone. Some of their faces showed that they have weathered some trials and tribulations. The years have not been kind to them.
